You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use and enjoyment of, this Site by any third party.

Prohibition of System Interference

The security and integrity of VerifyUs are paramount. You are strictly prohibited from:

  • Attempting to bypass, disable, or circumvent any security features or access controls.
  • Introducing viruses, Trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our server, the server on which our Site is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to our Site.
  • Attacking our Site via a denial-of-service (DoS) attack or a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.

Criminal Prosecution

No attempt at breaching the website will be tolerated. Any such attempt constitutes a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach or attempted breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities, and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. If a breach or attempted breach is proven, we will seek prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.

2. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance

VerifyUs acts as the data controller for your information. By clicking "Agree," you provide explicit consent for the following processing activities:

Section A: Data Processing

  • Collect and Verify: We will process your name, government-issued ID documents, and employment history specifically for identity verification purposes.
  • Disclosure to Parties: We will disclose your verified status to registered employers (for Candidates) or verify the legitimacy of job postings (for Employers).
  • AI Assessment: We process your data using automated tools to match candidates to roles in compliance with Article 22 of the UK GDPR.
  • Retention: We will store your data for up to 2 years after your last recorded activity, or as otherwise required by UK law.
  • Your Rights: You have the right to withdraw consent, request erasure, or lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Under the 2026 Data Use and Access Act, we will acknowledge and respond to any formal rights request or complaint within 30 days.

Section B: Account Security & Authentication

To align with data protection-by-design principles under UK GDPR and ensure the highest standards of account integrity, VerifyUs implements advanced security controls:

  • Recommended Practice (Passkeys): We strongly encourage the use of cryptographic Passkeys utilizing local hardware-based biometric verification (e.g., Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello) to protect your account against unauthorized access. Your biometric data is processed entirely locally on your device and is never accessed, collected, or stored by VerifyUs.
  • Alternative Authentication (2FA): Where a device or laptop does not support biometric capabilities or Passkeys, users are required to enable Multi-Factor / Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) using an authenticator application or temporary verification codes to maintain compliance with our organizational security policies.

3. Account Registration

  • Accuracy: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
